Electric
Maybe the most fundamental technological advancement of the last millenium, certainly the simplest.
This is used in the majority of transport forms - from bicycle lights and dynamos to public trains and electric vehicles (EV).
"Having seen the designs of Sir. Clive Sinclair as a child and having owned a C5 myself, I love them" (Ed.) But the ability to produce electricity for transport is much more than a wonderful three wheeled motorised cycle.
Many of the main motor manufacturers are designing new technology that allows for the practical and daily use of EVs. As of 2009, Formula One Motorsport is running electric cell technology in some race cars.
theARCproject seeks to procure a small fleet of electric vehicles for local recycling needs.
MegaVan offer small commercial tipper truck vehicles which can be used daily for local collections of cardboard, glass, cans and equipment. The potential restoration and reuse of electic milk-floats is also being investigated. We look forward to the imminent arrival of an EV in 2009/2010.
