Policy for Waste Minimisation, Re-Use and Recycling
 
- a 'Towards Zero Waste' approach to local sustainable development

 

theARCproject will contribute to the wider agenda for Energy Descent and Social Change that aims to minimise harm to the environment and encouraging sustainability through landfill avoidance.  We will: -

Promote waste minimisation initiatives to assist local communities achieve Welsh Assembly Government waste reduction and stabilisation targets for household waste.

 

Support and promote, local & national waste prevention and minimisation initiatives.

 

Provide a service for the kerbside collection of recyclable waste to  local businesses, public services and householders in Dinefwr.

 

Consult with the public on waste minimisation and recycling issues.

 

Work towards improving public attitudes towards waste reduction in order to assist in the prevention and minimisation of waste.

 

Develop links with Cylch, WRAP, Waste Awareness Wales and similar initiatives.

 

Provide 'Community Recycling Centre' facilities at various locations throughout the local area to compliment existing civic amenity and kerbside collection services.

 

Promote the 'Re-use' of materials as a means of reducing waste to landfill

 

Develop waste minimisation plans that work across the  public, private and third-sector through a joined up approach to reduction, re-use and recycling.

 

Raise public awareness of waste minimisation, re-use and recycling practices through all the work undertaken by theARCproject CIC and its associated members.
